Script editing to me is a holistic process. It does not only require the obvious such as knowledge of storytelling and analytical skills, but also the ability to connect with a writer in the sense that you become deeply familiar with their intentions.
Script editing is a job with great responsibility that requires you to be a good listener and a constructive critic, to act as audience and sometimes as a protector of the material and in its best moments as a source of inspiration.
